Lesson 6.7 Floor & Final Touches
Baseboards and Floor Cleaning:
- Prior to cleaning baseboards and the floor, conduct a final review of the laundry room to ensure all areas were thoroughly cleaned.
- Clean all baseboards in the laundry room before addressing the floor. Using a damp towel, apply degreaser to clean baseboards.
- According to floor type and the action needed, using a broom and dustpan, sweep the entire floor, pick-up and discard the trash or vacuum the entire floor to remove all dust and particles:
- If carpet is in the room, vacuum around the edges of the room. Vacuum from the furthest part of the room, going from side to side, up and down, work your way towards the door to exit the room.
- If no carpet, proceed with using a mop and mop bucket or hand-held holder with a floor pad and a floor cleaner; begin cleaning from the far end of the laundry room and work your way towards the door to exit the room.
Final Touches:
- If hand-held bucket and or mop bucket was used, discard dirty water in a laundry sink, mop sink, or toilet.
- Be sure to clean and wipe down the sink or clean the toilet afterwards.
- Place all trash in a trash bag and all dirty towels in the dirty towel bag.
- Spray the room with air freshener.
This concludes the cleaning instruction for a perfect, polished, and pristine Laundry Room.
