Lesson 1.3 – Toilet Cleaning Process

Toilet Cleaning Process:

1. Ensure pre-treatment has occurred.
2. Use a toilet bowl brush, scrub inside of the toilet, cleaning around the inside edge of the bowl where the water flows into the toilet bowl.
   1. If hard water stains still exist use a scouring stick for removal.
   2. Scrub inside drain hole of the toilet assuring all hard water and stains are removed.
   3. Flush the toilet once this step is completed.
3. Proceed to cleaning the other components of the toilet, using a clean towel and bathroom cleaner, from top to bottom in the following order.
   • If any rust exists, use powdered cleaner to remove rust:
     • Spray bathroom cleaner on all toilet components,
     • Clean the toilet tank lid,
     • Clean the tank of the toilet,
     • Clean the toilet seat lid (both sides),
     • Clean the toilet seat (both sides),
     • Lift the toilet seat and clean around the edge of the toilet base,
     • Clean the entire base of the toilet including the pipes behind the toilet.
     • If needed, do a final flush of the toilet.
