Lesson 1.3 – Dishwasher Cleaning Process
Dishwasher (interior and exterior):
- Open the dishwasher, dispose of any items in the dishwasher such as dishes and utensils.
- Spray inside of dishwasher with a degreaser.
- Clean the bottom rack, including the utensil holder then push the bottom rack back into the dishwasher
- Wipe inside of the door, including the cleaning dispenser and the rubber seal around the edge of the dishwasher’s door.
- If mold and mildew exist, using a mold and mildew cleaner, spray product inside the dishwasher.
- Clean the sides and the back of the dishwasher then clean the bottom part of the dishwasher including the dishwasher drain, ensuring the drain is clear of debris.
- Clean around the inside edge of the dishwasher.
- Pull the top rack out and wipe it clean, afterwards, push it back in.
- Close the dishwasher door then turn on the dishwasher for a cycle of clean.
- While cycle of clean is occurring, wipe the exterior of the dishwasher from top to bottom, using warm soapy water and towel; clean the dishwasher’s base board as well.
- Reminder:
- DO NOT use an abrasive scratch pad on the front of the dishwasher.
